The Vucci Shoe

I've been waiting to show everyone my "Vucci" - and knowing that at first glance of the word itself, no one will know what the fuck I'm talking about. "Vucci" is a Gucci Vans Shoe to put it simply. Recently, myself and a bunch of creatives were given a High Top Vans shoe and complete creative freedom to paint and embellish the shoe for the upcoming "House Of Vans" tour coming to Melbourne this November.

Ellis Brooklyn x Lusid Art

Earlier this year I had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with NY wonder woman and mastermind behind Ellis Brooklyn, Bee Shapiro. Ellis Brooklyn has been created for those who appreciate attention to detail, layers upon layers to discover and luxury - with each element of the brand and business thought of so carefully, it was impossible for me not to gravitate to Bee's creations...

Oroton For Abbey

I wanted to share a special project I recently finished for one of my best friends, Abbey's birthday. After tossing and turning, trying to think of the perfect gift I finally settled on an idea and couldn't be happier with the outcome. I purchased a leather Oroton pouch and customised it for Abbey so that she could have something no one else in the world would have.

2017 Horoscope Series | Libra

After a little breaking from the blog due to Praise You - I'm back! And onto the last quarter of star signs and my love for 3D makes it's way back into my work again. After wanting to draw Santigold for sometime, and having a new found love to Gambino (I was late) - I wanted this piece to be for myself and the viewer, rather than the muse.

PRAISE YOU

I thought it was time to share a personal glimpse into Praise You. What evolved from an event not just raising awareness of eating disorders, body image and the stigmas attached to how we perceive what our bodies SHOULD look like, bought with it an amazing response from the girls invited to be apart of Praise You - a new door opened taking Praise You to a new level, to educate, inform and challenge how we compare and compete within ourselves, on all levels - be it body image and comparison.

2017 Horoscope Series | Leo

There’s no way I could go past my two favourite Leo’s Kelly Thompson and Jasmine Dowling - who also share the same birthday. When I finally found something I loved, almost everything good for me in the universe gravitated in my general direction, and by sheer luck Kelly and Jasmine were in that pull. Over the time I have started putting my work out there, learning the ropes and evolving I have had these two magnificent beauties show me what’s possible and at different stages - does it get any better than that?!

Basics of illustration: Devil is in the detail

I'd be lying if it said this was my favourite part of drawing - As I'm equally as satisfied smashing out a really strong foundation, however detail is where people really see the piece come to life and "the magic happens". Now I’ve given a bit more insight into how I start a piece, I thought it was only fair and pretty relevant to show what people would say is “the good bits”. I have always very much enjoyed adding detail, it’s a part of the process that I love doing so much, it’s another aspect of my meditation.

The Year of Like, Realising Stuff

I never, ever thought of quitting my job - it’s not that I didn’t think it was impossible, it quite literally never came to mind but when things started to align, my plans started to get bigger and deadlines tighter - as a soul-sucking job which I hadn’t encountered like this in all my years of retail, I had a shock to the system (of my work closing) and I took the opportunity, as well as the help. And here I am - a year out of retail and working for myself. So, I took some time to gather my thoughts and realised there were more things I was surprised by then I expected…

2017 Horoscope Series | Cancer

Wow, I've officially put out half my star sign series... 6 down, 6 to go. If you've been following the series you have probably seen just as much change as I have and this month Cancer was one to show the difference. Although I was excited with the challenge of meshing MIA & Jack White into a piece for Cancer, I was also nervous. This piece became a mix of my core loves of classic pencil pieces, adding detailed elements like the warp to tie them together and my new love for experimenting, imperfections and creating in a different way by trusting the abstract style I'm developing.

#projectfulltransparency - Get rich or create try’n

Have you ever noticed the difference between earning money in a 9-5 job (that you hate), compared to the pay off with taking the leap on something you love? Something I don’t really see with the creative journeys getting shared is much money talk, let’s be honest - it’s important to us. Whether you strive for a certain lifestyle or just use the money to pay off essentials - money is an important factor. Especially in the line of work and direction, I’ve chosen to go in, like many other brave soldiers, earning money from our passion and being on top of the numbers is just something we have to be aware of and work towards. With money and freelancing also comes negativity and stress - BUT, I want to shine the light on my absolute favourite positive when it comes to living through your passion.

6 Stages of my drawing challenge/bender (2016 v 2017)

When you set yourself a challenge like, a 30 day or week challenge, I think it’s safe to say the last thing you’re thinking about is “what will I learn from this” rather… “what the f have I gotten myself into”.  At the end of the day, a challenge is a challenge but for anyone looking for some extra work for themselves and to test things out in a less serious way - a challenge is perfect for you. Set yourself a challenge not for perfection, but to grow and learn and surprise yourself with what’s possible and breaking limits. Like the 30 day challenge from last year, my Mercedes Benz Fashion Week challenge was just as incredibly rewarding, if not more. So I thought I’d finally share what I’ve learnt since my last drawing challenge and share the 6 stages of my drawing benders…

Remembering Eddie

It’s amazing how much progress we make on anything we work hard on… 8 years ago today I saw my granddad for the last time, tomorrow would be his birthday and the day after he passed - My granddad played a huge role in my life, and still does. A few years ago I created a piece in memory of him and this year I thought it was time to show him, myself and you how far I’ve come.

2017 Horoscope Series | Gemini

Five star signs down, seven to go and I'm already certain this is one of the best ideas I've ever had. I decided with this month, instead of talking about how I created this piece - I wanted to shine all of the light on why I created this piece. Something I have based my series off entirely is people who I'm influenced by and these three, have all played a part in adding fuel to that passionate fire of mine.
